Rescued in January 2003 from Herzliya, where he was being used and abused by local youths, Gerry was very boisterous at first as he was a mature stallion. He is now much calmer and lives happily with the rest of the herd

Griselda and her son Jester came to Lucy in October 2009. They had previously been cared for at a kibbutz by a lovely German lady who could no longer keep them.

Brought to Safe Haven in the spring of 2002 with her friend Holly, someone had used wire to make a bit for Hannah's mouth. The wire had become embedded, meaning that an operation was needed to remove it and Hannah's mouth is still disfigured today

Originally belonging to Bedouins, Harry Potter was found by a local person being so badly beaten that his muzzle was torn and bleeding

Heather was discovered in Jaffa, where she was being ridden by a group of local boys in spite of the fact that she was heavily pregnant. A concerned member of the public bought Heather and gave her to Safe Haven

Rescued from Palestine in Spring 2002 with Hannah and like her friend, has a disfigured mouth where wire used to make a home-made bit had become so embedded, surgery was needed to remove it
