Nablus Rest Haven is now open
28th June 2012
On Thursday 28th June 2012, Safe Haven's founder Lucy Fensom cut the ribbon at the opening of our brand new clinic for working equines in the Palestinian city of Nablus.
Lucy had wanted to open a permanent clinic in Nablus ever since she and her team first visited the city's donkey market with the charity's mobile treatment unit but didn't see in these tough economic times how it could ever be possible. As if in answer to a prayer, one of the charity's supporters offered to fund the whole project and so the Nablus Rest Haven has opened its doors to working donkeys, mules and horses from the city and beyond.
Although this part of the charity's work is fully funded, please don't forget that our donkey sanctuary and other work in the community needs your help more than ever - to make a donation, please go to our home page.
