Early in 2005, SHADH’s first “Volunteer Fundraising Group” was formed in Mid Sussex to help raise vital funds towards Lucy’s work with the donkeys.  Since then, the group has raised hundreds of pounds and helped increase the charity’s profile across Mid Sussex.

In the spring of 2006, a second group, the "Hungerford Area Volunteer Fundraising Group" was formed under the leadership of George and Rosemary Russell, stalwart supporters of SHADH who live in the town.
