Unfortunately, scammers sometimes target supporters of charities by pretending to represent genuine organisations. We would like to remind you to take a few simple precautions whenever you are contacted by someone claiming to be from Safe Haven for Donkeys.
Please always check that:
- You are speaking to a genuine member of our team if you receive a phone call (we do not engage in “telephone fundraising” so will never call you out of the blue asking for a donation and/or your card or bank account details). If in doubt, hang up, wait a few minutes to ensure the caller has gone (or if possible use a different phone) and then call us on 01444 470136 to verify.
- Emails claiming to be from us are sent from our official email domain: @safehaven4donkeys.org.
- You are visiting our official website https://www.safehaven4donkeys.org when making donations or accessing information.
- You are visiting our genuine social media pages (Facebook, Instagram and TikTok have blue ticks to denote our official accounts and we are in the process of obtaining this for X/Twitter. Sadly there are a lot of scammers on TikTok in particular)
If you are ever unsure whether a call, email or website is genuinely from Safe Haven for Donkeys, please do not hesitate to contact us before taking any action.
