Since 2023, Safe Haven’s dedicated team in Egypt has been providing vital veterinary treatment, advice and education to improve the welfare of donkeys and mules working in the brick kilns of the El Saf region, helping to treat injuries, improve harnessing and support their handlers.

In 2023, Safe Haven for Donkeys Patron and actor Peter Egan, along with filmmaker Andrew Telling of Orange Planet Pictures, visited Egypt to see for themselves the plight of the donkeys forced to work in the El Saf brick kilns. That visited resulted in award-winning film “Broken – the Brick Kiln Donkeys of Egypt” and “Bricks” the sequel. “Beyond” is the final film in the trilogy – watch and see the difference our dedicated team is making and our plans for the future.
