We’ve named this precious little girl Gervais, in honour of Ricky Gervais who gave our charity a very generous donation that helps make stories like this possible.

While Gervais’ life is beginning in safety and love, so many donkeys are still suffering — arriving to us frightened, neglected, and in desperate need of care.
Gervais will never know that pain. She will grow up safe, protected, and cherished — the life every donkey deserves.

Deborah is just 3 years old and was found abandoned and pregnant in the south of Israel before coming to us and giving birth to Gervais.
How your donkey adoption is helping
We’re not just a donkey adoption charity. Here at Safe Haven for Donkeys we care for over 220 abandoned, injured and traumatised donkeys in our sanctuaries in Israel and the West Bank. Sanctuaries where discarded donkeys can live a life full of love and care they so much need. With your help, we can also provide free veterinary care to working donkeys, mules and horses in towns and villages across the West Bank and Gaza, as well as Egypt.
We are the only charity dedicated to the welfare of working donkeys in the West Bank and Gaza. We can only bring this much-needed help with your donations and donkey adoptions.
