Jenkins was born in the summer of 2013 in the village of Bet Hananya, near the Palestinian town of Qalqilya. His owner complained the mother donkey was losing weight rapidly due to feeding her foal and she was took weak to carry out her work so he separated them, leaving the baby alone and abandoned.

Little Truffle was abandoned outside our Nablus clinic at just a few weeks old, probably because her owner felt she was “hindering the mother donkey from working”. She is now best friends with Helen, another little donkey rescued at the same time.

Coco was found abandoned and undernourished outside Safe Haven’s Nablus clinic at the beginning of December 2012. Too young to be separated from his mother, Coco needed a special milk supplement. He has become firm friends with Milky, another abandoned foal found at the same time.
