Our donkey update – 1st February 2024

News from Israel

This week, after Dr Eliran finished vaccinating all the donkeys against tetanus and rabies, the team gave the sanctuary a deep clean to keep everything hygienic for the donkeys and to discourage flies – as well as being harmful to the donkeys, flies can be a real nuisance to the neighbours who live either side of the sanctuary.

News from the West Bank

In Seleit al Thaher in the Jenin region of the West Bank, Dr Rakan made a new goat friend while treating a farmer’s donkeys and horses.

Dr Rakan also visited the donkeys at our new rescue centre in the West Bank village of Arrana – they donkeys are loving their new spacious home.

News from Egypt

Last weekend, our CEO Andy Foxcroft and Trustee George Russell visited the El Saf brick kilns so that George could see our new project and the difference it is making to donkeys and mules there.  He was very interested to watch an education session for young donkey handlers.

And finally…

Do you live in Sussex?  We are holding another of our ever-popular quiz nights on Thursday 21st March at 8pm at the Woolpack in Burgess Hill.  Entry is £5 per person to include a light snack and teams can be up to 6 people.  The quiz nights often sell out so if you would like to come along, please call Wendy on 01444 470136 or e-mail wendy@safehaven4donkeys.org

We hope this update has helped to show you how your donations are helping donkeys in desperate need – thank you for your support!

Thank you!
