Donkeys

Bindi was rescued as a tiny stray foal.

James was rescued as a little foal from a Bedouin encampment – his mother had recently died.

Samson was a family pet but the owner’s neighbours didn’t like “the noise and smell” so campaigned to have the donkey removed.

Nordy was rescued as a stray. He was being beaten by a gang of local boys.

Abu Sabber (whose name is Arabic for “father of Sabber”) was spotted being dragged along by a cart being pulled by another donkey. His owners didn’t want him so back he came to the sanctuary.

Found as a stray, walking along the side of the road.

Thomas was about 2 months old when found wandering along the side of a road.

Freddie had been hitched to a cart and was being severely beaten by a group of children, who it is thought stole the donkey, although his original owner has never been traced.

A local man called the sanctuary after witnessing Ann being beaten by a gang of youths.
