Aitch was found with Elsa, abandoned at the side of the road

Elsa was found abandoned with Aitch at the side of a busy highway.

After being brought to one of SHADH’s free veterinary clinics. The owner asked us to take Aseel as she was no longer fit for work.

Brian was found as a stray. His owner had moved abroad and simply left Brian to fend for himself.

Sooty was brought to the sanctuary as a 2 week old foal. His owner no longer wanted Sooty as he claimed having a foal stopped the mother donkey from working.

The family who had taken Basil in as a stray asked SHADH to take him to the sanctuary as they could not cope with him.

Diego was found at the side of a busy highway by some maintenance men. He was so good-natured, he trotted straight into the horsebox when our team came to rescue him.

Winston Churchill was found on a farm, where he had simply wandered on and made friends with the horses.

Griselda came to the sanctuary with her son, Jester. A lovely lady had been keeping them on a kibbutz but could no longer give the pair the care they needed.

Russell was born at one of Safe Haven’s clinics. The birth was witnessed by Safe Haven supporters George and Rosemary Russell.
