Update from the Sanctuary and the West Bank – 11th May 2023

Dr Eliran has been back at the sanctuary this week carrying out dental work on some of the donkeys – this week it was the turn of Humphrey, Josephine and Simon. This is only possible thanks to your support.

You can see from the photos that most of the treatments were focused on shaping the sharp edges of the teeth, to prevent them from cutting their tongue, or wounding their gums, while they chew.

Dental rasping is vital to make sure the donkeys are able to chew their food properly.

Dr Rakan has travelled far and wide with his team this week, helping builder donkeys and also shepherd donkeys.

Whilst it’s all been about teeth at the sanctuary, Wael and Nour have been trimming hooves this week.

And here you can see Dr Rakan using the ultrasound machine funded by our kind donors’ support.
