Melanie was only about 3 months old when she was found in October 2016, abandoned and tied up in the streets of Nablus. Thankfully she was brought to our clinic in the city.

Safe Haven were asked to take Shirley-June and two other donkeys in by a local family. At the time she was brought into the sanctuary on 5 January 2017, Shirley-June was about 3 months pregnant.
Safe Haven were asked to take Gorran and two other donkeys in by a local family on 5 January 2017. Gorran, who was about 13 when he came to the sanctuary, gets his unusual name from a village in Cornwall whose residents do so much to raise funds for Safe Haven.
Yvette, who we think we born in about 2005, was rescued along with 3 other donkeys from a village near the Israeli town of Hadera on 31 January 2017. All the donkeys had been hobbled with rope and abandoned on the street. Thankfully, a kind passer-by let Safe Haven know and the donkeys were taken
Jezza, named after television presenter Jeremy Clarkson, was one of 4 donkeys brought to the sanctuary on 31 January 2017. Jezza, who we think was born in about 2008, was hobbled with rope and abandoned with the 3 other donkeys on the streets of a village near the Israeli town of Hadera.
Richard, named after TV presenter Richard Hammond, was born in about 2007. He and 3 other donkeys were brought to the sanctuary on 31 January 2017 after being found hobbled with rope and abandoned on the streets of a village near the Israeli town of Hadera.
Izzard was about a year old when she was found as a stray in November 2016 and brought to the charity’s rest station in the Palestinian town of Jbara. Our vet Dr Jaber noticed she had trouble walking and eventually found a rubber ring embedded in one of her front legs which needed surgery to
Safe Haven was contacted in November 2016 by Luna’s owner, Ruth, who had rescued the donkey some time previously but was no longer able to keep her. Luna was about 6 when she came to Safe Haven.
Marian was about 2 years old in November 2016 when she was found wandering the streets of the Palestinian town of Jbara as a stray and brought to our rest station in the town.
Tippy was abandoned at the sanctuary by an unknown person in a van who just opened the door and pushed her out, with her legs tied together. We named her Tippy because she is all white apart from a black tip to one ear.
